Modern Slavery Statement

Last Updated Jan 10, 2025

1. Introduction

Kaiterra is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings. We oppose all forms of modern slavery and human trafficking and are committed to ensuring, to the best of our ability, that these practices are not present in our business or direct supply chains.

This statement outlines our approach and has been reviewed and approved by the Chief Executive Officer of Kaiterra.

2. Our Organisation and Supply Chains

Kaiterra is a global company focused on environmental monitoring technology. Our business includes:

  • The design and manufacture of air quality and environmental sensors.

  • The development of software platforms that collect, analyze, and report on environmental data.

  • The provision of services to help clients monitor, understand, and improve environmental quality in their buildings and operations.

Our supply chain is primarily concentrated in the electronics and manufacturing sectors, where we source components and contract with specialist manufacturing partners. We also work with technology service providers who support our software and data services.

We recognize that some parts of the global electronics supply chain may carry a higher risk of modern slavery and related human rights concerns, and we take this into account when evaluating suppliers.

3. Our Principles in Relation to Modern Slavery

Kaiterra’s operations are grounded in principles of ethical conduct and respect for human rights. We expect our suppliers and business partners to operate lawfully, uphold fair labour practices, and demonstrate transparency in their operations.

We do not tolerate forced, bonded, or involuntary labour. We support the rights of workers to fair treatment, safe working conditions, and freedom of association.

4. Our Approach to Due Diligence

Our approach to reducing the risk of modern slavery in our supply chains is based on careful supplier selection and vetting. When engaging new suppliers, particularly for hardware manufacturing, we consider their reputation, track record, and commitment to responsible practices.

We seek to build long-term relationships with suppliers who align with our values. If we became aware of credible evidence of modern slavery within our supply chain, we would act promptly to investigate and, if necessary, reassess or end the relationship.

5. Whistleblowing and Reporting

Kaiterra takes concerns about unethical or unlawful conduct, including potential instances of modern slavery, seriously. We encourage employees, partners, and other stakeholders to raise any concerns in good faith. Any reports received will be reviewed carefully, and we are committed to handling them appropriately and without retaliation.

6. Training and Awareness

Awareness of ethical business practices, including risks associated with modern slavery, is part of Kaiterra’s culture. Employees involved in supplier engagement and procurement are expected to act consistently with the principles set out in this statement.

7. Ongoing Commitment

Kaiterra will continue to monitor its operations and supply chains with the aim of minimizing risks of modern slavery. This statement will be reviewed and updated annually to reflect our evolving business and supply chain practices.

Approval

This statement is made on behalf of Kaiterra in accordance with section 54 of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 and section 16 of the Australian Modern Slavery Act 2018.
